Important Changes for 2009 - 2010See 2009 - 2010 Fishing Regulations Summary booklet for additional details |
Index of Lakes with Special RulesKnow where you want to fish but don't know which regulations apply? use the new lake and river index! On page 3 you will find an index of the lakes and rivers on which special regulations apply, with the page numbers you need to check for more information. For the lakes and rivers not listed, general regulations apply. |
Revision of Char SpeciesAs a result of new scientific knowledge, the distributions of the closely related char species Dolly Varden, Arctic Char, and Bull Trout have been revised. See pages 36-39 for more details. Please ensure you know which species you are catching because catch limits differ between species. |
Family Fishing WeekendOnce again Yukon residents may fish without an angling licence during Family Fishing Weekend, July 3-6, 2009. Anglers must still comply with all fishing regulations, including catch and possession limits, and must be able to produce proof of residency if asked by a Conservation or Fisheries Officer. Yukon residents fishing for salmon are still required to possess a Yukon Angling Licence and a Salmon Catch Card during this period. |
Pleasure Craft Operators CardBy September 15, 2009, all operators of pleasure craft must carry on board a proof of competency (the Pleasure Craft Operators Card). For more information, contact Transport Canada's Office of Boating Safety |
