Access to Information and Protection of Privacy
The Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPP) guarantees access to Yukon government records, with some exceptions. It also guarantees individuals access to their personal information in Yukon government records and gives them the right to correct information.
Individuals or organizations can contact the department, branch or unit directly to request information about records relating to programs, themselves, etc. Direct contact with the department, branch or unit is referred to as in "informal" request. Contact the department's librarian at (867) 667-3029 for further information.
If the request can not be answered informally because of exceptions under the ATIPP Act, an individual or organization may apply formally by contacting the ATIPP Act Coordinator at the Information and Communications Technology Division, Department of Highways and Public Works at (867) 393-7048.
The ATIPP Directory, Act, Regulations and Application Forms can be accessed at: www.atipp.gov.yk.ca.
