Tombstone Territorial Park Interpretive Centre Opening
The doors to the new Tombstone Territorial Park Interpretive Centre were opened on August 28, 2009.

The $2 million building was designed using the Leading in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) standards to minimize its environmental footprint.
The design maximizes passive solar energy and natural air circulation to heat and ventilate the building; and uses solar panels as the key electrical source. It has an instant-on hot water supply, low flow toilets and sinks, and uses natural materials instead of plastics.
Displays and exhibits within the new centre provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about the natural, cultural, and recreational values of the park.
The building will be available for school programs and may serve as a base for research initiatives.
